Dying Light 2 Will be Supported for Up to Four Years, Offers Over 100 Hours of Content

Few games have received better post-launch support than the original Dying Light. For four years developer Techland has continued to push out major expansions like The Following and numerous smaller content updates, fostering a very dedicated community in the process. So, can we expect the same from Dying Light 2? You’re darn right we can!

In an interview with the Prankster101 podcast, Dying Light 2 lead game designer Tymon Smektala vowed the game will be supported just as long as the original.

Dying Light 1 was supported for four years after its release, and the plan for Dying Light 2 is exactly the same. We want this game to be supported after its release. We know that a lot of fans will be waiting for DLCs, updates, extra stuff they can get their hands on. And we promise to deliver them just that.

Smektala also provided some information about the length of Dying Light 2. Basically, the game’s core campaign will be pretty reasonable, but doing everything will be a long haul…

[The game can be completed in] 15 to 20 hours. It is very hard to measure in an open-world game. How long it actually takes to complete the game because of the things that happen between points A and points B of a quest, so basically, it’s up to you how you play it. Also in a game like this, there are a lot of emergencies. Things just happen as you play the game and you have to react to them. But it is 15 to 20 hours for the main story, because the whole content I would say is more than 100 hours.

If Dying Light 2 isn’t on your radar, you need to change that, because it’s one of the most promising-looking games on the near horizon. I got a chance to check out a video demo and interview the game’s devs at E3 and came away impressed.
