FAIRY TAIL Comes to Home Consoles

You know what, GUST Studios are a pretty damn solid developer. They’ve achieved more than a reasonable level of success developing the Atelier franchise of games, as well as titles like Nights of Azure. To say they specialise in animé style games would be an understatement, to say the least. Knowing this, though, it doesn’t make it much of a surprise that Koei Tecmo would have GUST develop the first major game based around FAIRY TAIL.

There have been other FAIRY TAIL titles in the past, but none on a major platform like the PC, PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch. Those three platforms are exactly what FAIRY TAIL is coming out for some time in 2020. While only so much information has been released so far – the grand reveal of sorts, offering more information, being held at the Tokyo Game Show next week.

What has been said about the game so far is a fairly simple overview of what to expect:

Demons, dark wizards, dragons, and cats. You’ll find it all as you start your journey in the land of Fiore and play through the adventures of Natsu Dragneel and Lucy Heartfilia as well as other eccentric members of the FAIRY TAIL mage guild on a fun-filled and thrilling quest. GUST Studios is creating the game under the supervision of author Hiro Mashima, promising a faithful recreation for the FAIRY TAIL world and its unusual inhabitants, including everything from magic to its iconic characters.

I do love my JRPG’s so I can’t complain about this at all. I’m not exactly massively knowledgeable on the animé, so it will certainly be interesting, coming in as a newcomer. Though before it launches, I’ll have probably watched some of it by then. Anyway, you can find out more about the game on the FAIRY TAIL website.
